Coastal Division Director Jessica Fentress held a press conference on Friday to discuss the weather event that is being considered "the most significant storm event" Volusia County has experienced since a hurricane. She said the beaches did lose some sand, and out of an abundance of caution, some beach access ramps have been closed.
