A former Salt Lake City fire captain and EMT instructor convicted of sexually abusing multiple students was sentenced to two to 30 years in prison Wednesday after addressing the court for the first time since his arrest. Christopher Burk was found guilty earlier this year on nine of 14 felony charges tied to allegations from former students in EMS courses he taught. During trial, jurors heard testimony from seven women who accused Burk of abusing his position of authority as an instructor.
