The future of the Clearfield Job Corps Center — and the national Job Corps program — is facing shutdown following a proposal in President Trump’s latest budget to eliminate funding for the 60-year-old initiative. The move would impact more than 50,000 students nationwide, including 740 currently enrolled at the Clearfield campus. On Thursday, May 29, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) announced it will begin a phased pause in operations at contractor-operated Job Corps centers nationwide.
