Ohio governor candidate Vivek Ramaswamy (R) announced a collaboration between his campaign and the Ohio state legislature to codify a 90-day suspension on the state's gas tax. The proposed legislation came as the gas tax peaked at 38 cents per gallon of gas and 47 cents per gallon of diesel. If passed, the bill would be signed by current Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R). Mr. Ramaswamy said its passage would prove his capability to mobilize the state legislature to get things done. Mr. Ramaswamy would go on to face Democrat Amy Acton in the November 3rd, general election. Cook Political Report rated the race a "Toss Up," and Inside Elections rated it "Lean Republican."
