The Manhattan man who claimed that he was the owner of the iconic New Yorker hotel — despite never actually owning the building — finally admitted to never owning the iconic Art Deco landmark, a court heard Wednesday. Mickey Barreto, 49, pleaded guilty to forging property records claiming to own the historic Midtown tower between May 2019 and September 2023 in front of Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Cori Weston.
