Most Of The World’s Vision Loss Is Preventable. Here’s How

One of the most common reasons for vision loss, a cataract, is when the eye's clear lens gets cloudy. But it is also the world’s leading cause of preventable blindness. But symptoms arrive so slowly that most sufferers are unaware. While vision loss can greatly impact well-being and independence, stopping us from doing things we may take for granted, cataract is treatable with a simple surgery. But half of Americans skip their regular eye exams. This year’s World Sight Day theme is #LoveYourEyes, and its goal is to get 1 million people to have their eyes checked.
