A young man has been shot dead in an east London park as police launch their second murder investigation in just over 24 hours. The victim, believed to be in his early 30s, was found collapsed in Weavers Fields, off Wilmot Street, Bethnal Green at about 8.27pm on Tuesday. Police were alerted by London Ambulance Service who were already on scene. Officers, including firearms units, and London’s Air Ambulance attended. Despite the efforts of emergency services, sadly the male could not be saved. Weavers Fields is the largest open space in Tower Hamlets and popular with families attracted to its facilities including an adventure playground, football pitch and outdoor gym.
