A Senate Homeland and Governmental Affairs subcommittee held a hearing on the insurance industry's practices following natural disasters. In this second portion of the hearing, State Farm Vice President of Operations Michael Keating and Allstate Executive Vice President Mike Fiato testifed. Mr. Keating apologized to a homeowner who had testified earlier and acknowledged State Farm made mistakes in handling insurance claims. Mr. Fiato, though, challenged a homeowner's testimony, contending that Allstate gave fair and accurate insurance estimates and denied engaging in fraudulent behavior in order to maximize profits.
