'States found out truth...': PM Modi on vaccine policy reversal | Covid

In an address to the nation on June 7, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the background of decentralisation, and now reversal, of Covid-19 vaccine procurement policy. He said that state governments had clamoured for more freedom in vaccine disbursal, following which the Union government decentralised 25% vaccine procurement work. However, within two weeks, states realised the global situation, and so sought a reinstatement of the earlier policy, he said. The PM also announced free vaccination of all adults at government facilities from June 21. Watch the full video for more.
