More than 100 people suffered with vomiting and diarrhea on cruise

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that 135 passengers and staff sailing on Cunard Cruise Line’s Queen Victoria ship fell ill. 120 passengers and 15 crew suffered from diarrhea and vomiting on the vessel that set sail from Fort Lauderdale, per CruiseMapper. While the CDC failed to pinpoint the cause of the outbreak, it said Cunard took additional safety precautions to contain the illness. That includes extra measures to disinfect surfaces in public areas and isolating people who are sick on board. The CDC also stressed that the number of people sick was for the total length of the journey & didn’t reflect the number of people sick at one time. They immediately activated their enhanced health and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of all guests and crew onboard," a Cunard spokesperson told Fox Business. The Queen Victoria, which can accommodate 2,061 guests, had 1,824 passengers on board when it set sail, the CDC said.
