Guidelines on Embodied Carbon in Concrete

In this episode of The Cure, editor Jonathan Kozlowski speaks with Stacy Smedly, the executive director of Building Transparency – a nonprofit aimed at providing open-access data and the tools necessary to enable broad and swift action across the building industry in addressing embodied carbon’s role in climate change. Stacy Smedly speaks to the Senate Bill S542A which establishes guidelines for the procurement of low embodied carbon concrete and what it means for the concrete construction industry. She also briefs us on how their Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator (EC3) can help concrete contractors.
