What does the EU’s new Digital Markets Act mean for big tech?

The EU has unveiled a raft of new laws designed to make Europe’s tech sector more competitive. It means big tech firms will have to follow new rules. such as sharing data with rivals and removing barriers for smaller firms to get onto platforms and reach users. The Act defines 22 companies and services as ‘gatekeepers’. Gatekeepers include the 6 big tech firms, Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft and ByteDance (which owns TikTok)
