Kyle Walker A Doubt For World Cup After Groin Surgery

Kyle Walker may miss this winter’s World Cup after undergoing surgery on a groin injury. Walker picked up the injury in Manchester City’s 6-3 victory over Manchester United on Oct. 2. The injury meant Walker missed City’s 5-0 Champions League win over FC Copenhagen. And speaking after the game, City boss Pep Guardiola was unsure when the defender would return to the pitch. I know how important the World Cup is for the players, but honestly, I don’t know right now, Pep Guardiola. The news is a major blow to England as Walker was expected to be their starting right centre-back in a back three. Recovery from the surgery usually takes between six and 11 weeks. England’s first game at the Qatar World Cup is against Iran on Nov. 21.
