An Iran-backed militia in Iraq claimed responsibility for drone and rocket strikes on US bases near Erbil International Airport, amid escalating retaliatory attacks across the region. The group, calling itself the Islamic Resistance, said the assaults were in response to US and Israeli actions against Iran that it said killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
