Nicole Scherzinger pays tribute to Liam Payne after revealing they were texting the day he died: 'Hard to process'

'X Factor' judge Nicole Scherzinger was texting Liam Payne on the day he died, according to composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. The legendary composer wrote the music for the Broadway musical 'Sunset Blvd.,' in which Scherzinger stars. In a recent interview with Billboard, Webber discussed how Scherzinger mentored Payne, revealing that she was "still texting him that day." The One Direction star died of “multiple traumas” and “internal and external hemorrhage” after falling from a third-floor hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  The Pussycat Dolls singer still performed in the Broadway production after learning about Payne's death. "She’d just heard that he died, and the fact that she even did the show at all is extraordinary. I mean, she is an amazing, amazing woman. She is without any question one of the finest performers I’ve ever worked with," said Webber.  A recently resurfaced scene from 'X Factor' revealed that Scherzinger was the judge who put the members of One Direction together as a band.  In a joint statement posted on One Direction's Instagram account. Louis, Zayn, Niall & Harry said the are "completely devastated" by Payne's death.
