Scientists launch Arctic mission to find secret of melting glaciers

Scientists onboard the RRS Sir David Attenborough launched an expedition to investigate the impact of melting glaciers. Video shows rafts of sea ice drifting across the ocean while the KangGlac team, representing the British Antarctic Survey, Durham University, and SAMS Marine Science, were travelling to Greenland. The team said their primary focus is to understand the movement of warm ocean water up the fjords and the consequences of increased freshwater runoff from melting glaciers into the ocean. The research aims to shed light on how these dynamics contribute to ongoing changes in Arctic environments in order to better predict future climate impacts.
