The coach of the Golden State Warriors, Steve Kerr, said on Tuesday he did not want to talk about basketball following a shooting at an elementary school in which at 19 children were killed. The massacre at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, was the deadliest shooting at a US grade school since a gunman killed 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, almost a decade ago. Mr Kerr urged Congress to mandate background checks for gun purchases.
