EU proposes 90% reduction in truck emissions by 2040

To align with Europe’s goal of reaching net zero by 2050. Trucks and buses account for over a quarter of the EU’s road transport greenhouse gas emissions and more than 6% of the EU’s total emissions. Today, dozens of electric trucks are already on the market and leading companies are increasingly committed to making their fleets zero-emission. However, it’s not happening fast enough to reach net zero by 2050. So the European Commission has proposed new truck CO2 reduction targets.
