‘For humanity’s sake’: UN Chief pleads Putin to stop war against Ukraine; EU plans new sanctions

A series of threats of sanctions and diplomatic meetings didn't deter Russia President Vladimir Putin from declaring war on Ukraine. Just hours after he announced that he was authorising military operations in separatist held Eastern Ukraine regions, the United Nations Chief appealed to Putin. In a desperate plea, Antonio Guterres urged Putin to stop the war for the sake of humanity. At the same time, the European Union adopted a different approach and promised to punish Putin for his decisions and actions. The European Union has prepared a list of fresh sanctions which they term to be tough. Watch this video for more details.
