A gutsy grandma went outside to confront a stranger in her yard only to discover her daughters who she’d not seen in years had travelled across the country to surprise her. Gayle Fout, 74, from Shell Knob, Missouri, hadn’t seen both her daughters, Jill and Courtney, together for several years. Jill, who had not seen her mom in four years, and Courtney, who had been apart from her mother for a year, live in Lowell, Michigan, roughly an 11-hour drive from Gayle’s home. Given that the pair had not been back home together in quite some time, they decided to coordinate a surprise visit, which they kept a secret from Gayle and only told family members. On August 16, at Gayle’s home, her granddaughter secretly started recording as Gayle was asked why there was someone in her yard. When she heard this, Gayle immediately put her dog down and headed to an adjacent room to look out of the window. Unable to see the individuals in question, Gayle then walked outside, before freezing in shock in the middle of her yard. As her daughters came towards her, she shouted, “Oh my god!”, before heading in for an emotional hug with the pair. Gayle’s granddaughter, Alli, later shared the video online, where viewers commented the clip had made them emotional – and jokingly praised Gayle’s lack of fear in heading out to investigate.
