A fast-growing wildfire continues to threaten homes in Weber County. The Willard Peak Fire is now up to 754 acres, and 0% contained. It has more than doubled in size since Wednesday night, forcing crews to keep evacuations in place. The 150 homes that had to evacuate hoped to get that order lifted Thursday morning, but the fire is still burning out of control. Evacuations are scheduled to stay in place until at least 5:00 p.m. Fortunately, no buildings have been destroyed, but keeping it that way is the biggest challenge for firefighters. Smoke is seen covering the hillside above the homes in North Ogden. The Willard Peak Fire is burning right up to people’s backyards. Thursday, more than 100 firefighters were seen on scene to stop the flames from going any further.
