Scene outside Army's Fort Stewart — after five soldiers shot

Five soldiers were wounded at Fort Stewart after the Georgia Army base’s commander reported an active shooter and placed the sprawling compound on lockdown Wednesday. The soldiers were treated at the scene and transported to Winn Army Community Hospital, according to an update from Fort Stewart just before 1 p.m. The same post said the shooter had been apprehended and there was no “active threat to the community.”
