Campaign 2026: Pete Buttigieg Campaigns with Governor Candidate Amy Acton (D-OH) near Cincinnati

Pete Buttigieg, former transportation secretary under President Biden, campaigned alongside Ohio Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton at a Labor Day picnic in Hamilton, Ohio. He condemned Trump administration actions in Iran as well as on gerrymandering, and affordability. He also criticized Vice President JD Vance's recent comments that it is getting easier to buy a home, saying, "makes me wonder what planet he's living on, let alone what housing market he's living in." During her remarks, Amy Acton said that since January, she had raised $4 million more in campaign funds than her Republican opponent, Vivek Ramaswamy, whom she called a "self-funded billionaire." "You cannot buy Ohio," she yelled to the crowd. Inside Elections has rated the Ohio governor race as "Lean Republican." The Cook Political Report has rated it a "Toss Up."
