Union minister Anurag Thakur hit out at news reporters on Sunday. After a meeting with industry and trade stakeholders, organised by the income tax department, Thakur addressed a press conference. He was asked about recent cases of alleged hate speech, especially in the run-up to the Delhi violence. The Union Minister of State for Finance said that all those who incite or participate in riots should be punished. He was then asked about allegations regarding chanting of the slogan, 'desh ke gaddaro ko, goli maaro ******* ko' (shoot the traitors), at one of his pre-election rallies in Delhi. Thakur accused the reporter, who asked the question, of lying.
