Small Business Administrator Kelly Loeffler spoke before the vice president. "The future is right here in Maine," Mr. Vance told the crowd, "as long as we fight for it." He touted the Trump administration's economic policy, saying they support an ongoing domestic "manufacturing renaissance." He also told attendees that Mr. LePage would "put the fraudsters behind bars and fight for you for a change" if elected. Mr. LePage would face Democratic state auditor Matt Dunlap in the November 3 general election, which the nonpartisan Cook Political Report with Amy Walter rated as "Likely Republican."
