Before Title IX: Tales From Senior Athletes

Growing Bolder celebrates the 50-year anniversary of the passing of Title IX, a critical moment in American history that opened up competitive sports for girls and women. Growing Bolder and the National Senior Games Association assembled a panel of female athletes — headlined by Kathrine Switzer (the first woman to register and run the Boston Marathon), representing "the lost generation" of women not allowed to participate in high school and collegiate sports. Now seizing the opportunity to compete and achieve in masters sports, these women tell the stories of female athletes before and after Title IX.
