American Presidents: Life Portrait of George Washington

In the first of a series of life portraits of American presidents, Mr. Smith and Mr. Rees discussed the life and career of George Washington. They further talked about the history of Washington's home, Mount Vernon. Various rooms and quarters at Mount Vernon were shown. The guests also responded to telephone calls from viewers. Austen Blakesly was interviewed by telephone about why his middle school was named for President Washington. Closed captioning begins approximately 14 minutes into the program.
