Girl, 14, Sues Airline Over Alleged Bathroom Filming Incident

The family of a 14-year-old girl is suing American Airlines after a flight attendant allegedly recorded the girl using the airplane bathroom. The flight attendant said he needed to wash his hands before allegedly taping his iPhone to the airplane toilet in an attempt to record the teen. After the teen used the toilet, she noticed a phone that was mostly hidden by red tape, that had its camera flash glowing. While the girl took a picture of the phone for evidence, it was reported that the attendant had deleted the recording from his phone. The man was not arrested as nothing incriminating was found, but the Airline said the attendant was immediately “withheld from service”. The family's lawyer said the crew “knew or should have known the flight attendant was a danger”. The suit states that crew members failed to confiscate the attendant's phone which allowed him to destroy the potential evidence. American Airlines has stated that they take this matter seriously and will fully cooperate with law enforcement in their investigation.
