New Supercontinent Could Wipe Out Humans And Make Earth Uninhabitable

Researchers predict that the formation of a new "supercontinent," in roughly 250 million years could lead to extreme climate change. They believe that the supercontinent, Pangea Ultima, would make the Earth virtually uninhabitable for humans and mammals. Using supercomputer climate models, the scientists from the University of Bristol simulated temperature, wind, and rain. They also considered factors like tectonic plate movement and carbon dioxide levels. Their study indicates that the merging of continents would result in more frequent volcanic eruptions, increasing global warming. Moreover, the sun's brightness would intensify, further warming the planet. This triple impact of continentality, a hotter sun, and elevated CO2 levels could lead to temperatures around 104 Fahrenheit. Humans and many other species would likely perish due to their inability to regulate body heat.
