Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said he was “not surprised” trust had fallen in politics and politicians “given recent events”. He said at the launch of the 2022 Edelman Trust Barometer, "it’s inevitable when we have a Government that is misleading the public and covering up their own wrongdoing to save the Prime Minister’s job.”
