U.S. Senate candidate Sen. Jon Husted (R-OH) accepted the endorsement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce at a press conference in Mentor, OH. After receiving the endorsement, Sen. Husted expressed the importance of job creation and of encouraging business development in Ohio. The event was followed by questions from the press where Sen. Husted justified his vote against the War Powers resolution after having called for an end to the war in Iran. He also explained his stance on data centers and spoke against his opponent, former Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH). Sen. Husted would face Mr. Brown in the November 3rd, 2026, general election, which the nonpartisan Cook Political Report and Inside Elections both rated as a "Toss Up."
