My dad and brother went out in our canoe to disperse the dye throughout the pond and mom and I were moral support! We put the dye in on Friday and I showed the results from the next day in the same video. My name is Melody, my parents are Mike and Lori Roop. I have 4 siblings, but the only people in the video are my dad, my mom, and my littlest brother Deron. The pond is right next to our house. We live in a rural area of Ohio so it’s natural to the environment here. We have dyed our pond before (black) and we didn’t really like the results so we decided to go with a prettier color this time. It turned out way better than we imagined it would. A lot of people have been questioning the safety of the dye but it is 100% nontoxic and is completely safe for the wildlife. People also have been asking if we swim in the pond, the answer is no. It’s not that it isn’t safe, we just have a pool so swimming in the pond just doesn’t make sense. I did post a video of my little brother jumping in it for $10, he’s a lot of fun! I also posted another video about our pond that went viral about a month ago, not nearly as much but it was still a big deal for me then. My friend Clorissa and I, were bored one day and decided to clean up the trash that had collected over the years around our pond. We got a lot of attention for that but it didn’t explode like the recent videos did. When my dad told me he was going to dye the pond I told him to wait a sec because I had to get my phone to make a tiktok! Little did I know it would go viral! The next day he made a homemade fountain for the pond and I posted that as well! People now have been calling me “pond girl” and are continuously asking for more pond videos! Haha it’s been crazy to watch it blow up. My following on Instagram has went up by over a thousand and my tiktok following has went up by 241k in just 4 days.
