Palakkad: All of the four shutters of the Malampuzha dam have been opened as a precautionary measure. The shutters have been raised by 30 cm each. The shutters were opened since the water level in the dam has reached 114.3 m following the heavy rains. The maximum storage capacity of the dam is 115.6 m. The red alert issued in the district has been withdrawn on Thursday.
