The global COVID-19 pandemic put a strain on supply chains for many manufacturers in the heavy equipment industries. This was due in part to many suppliers being located in China which was one of the first places impacted by the virus and shutdowns. As such, there has been talk in the industry of the potential for reshoring, or bringing manufacturing operations back to the U.S. Many economists believe this could aid with economic recovery, and the construction sector could also benefit from the increased work this would bring to their market.
