DRIBBLING IN SPACE: Foot Skills You Need To Win

DRIBBLING IN SPACE Former South African player, Mike Araujo, teaches you how to dribble when you have time and space. This drill focuses on maintaining control of the ball, keeping a nice tempo, while promoting balance and awareness. The key for maintaining speed is to use the top part of the foot to maintain a natural running action while controlling the ball. Avoid opening up the foot or using the instep as this will slow you down. Keep the ball in front of you at all times and take the time to look up to see what’s happening in front of you. This drill is great for all ages. Once players master the speed, control and awareness, you can increase the degree of difficulty by switching from the dominant foot or by placing extra cones to require some extra control.
