With warming temperatures this week, combined with rain on Wednesday, attention has turned to Red Bank Creek, which has been covered by a thick layer of ice this winter. Reports of flooding upstream in the Summerville area have led to Redbank Valley Schools taking the precaution of an early dismissal Thursday afternoon (Feb. 19), and crews from New Bethlehem Borough have been moving picnic tables from Gumtown Park near the dam.
