Kozhikode: More traders took an anti-strike decision by opening shops in Kozhikode city. Even though the general strike supporters forced a few banks and shops of Koyilandy to shut, the city seemed more active on the second day of the two-day nationwide strike called by the joint committee of trade unions. Around 70% of the shops in Mittayi Theurvu (SM Street) and Valiyangadi remained open today. Some of the hotels welcomed customers. Private vehicles were seen on the roads since morning. The private buses that goes through Medical College were operational.
