Four firefighters and one member of airport staff were taken to hospital following a large fire at a car park at London Luton Airport on Tuesday evening, October 10, with flight activity at the airport halted on Wednesday. Footage recorded by @grahamt85 shows the fire, which London Luton Airport said ripped through Terminal Car Park 2. Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue said they first received calls about the fire at 8:47 pm on Tuesday evening. A major incident was declared at 9:38 pm. Around 1,200 vehicles were believed to be in the parking garage at the time of the fire, the service said. The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust said four firefighters and one member of airport staff were taken to hospital following the incident. A sixth person was discharged at the scene, the service said. Luton Airport said flights would be suspended until 3 pm on Wednesday. The cause of the fire was being investigated.
