Former child star Ryan Grantham has been sentenced to life in prison for murdering his mother in 2020. The Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Riverdale actor was given a life sentence and will not be eligible for parole for 14 years. Grantham pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, which carries an automatic life sentence in Canada. In June, prosecutors said Grantham shot his 64-year-old mother in the back of the head as she played the piano. Grantham reportedly rehearsed the murder and took videos documenting the process. One video included him confessing to the murder and showing his mother’s body. Justice Kathleen Ker said that Grantham is currently receiving psychiatric help in prison.
