Idukki: The Deputy Director General of Geological Survey of India who had come to study about the cause of natural disaster has said that illegal construction of buildings was the reasons for landslides in Munnar. The soil at Munnar needs special attention as it is thick mud filled soil. For over a month GSI had conducted studies in Idukki which had witnessed 273 landslides.
