A large fire has broken out at an electrical substation in north west London, sending heavy smoke seen billowing over the capital. Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters were called to the scene at Victoria Passage, Aberdeen Place, St John’s Wood, at 5.29am today. The blaze has sent a large plume of smoke into the sky and people living in the area have been advised to keep their doors and windows closed. Fire crews are using a 32-metre turntable ladder to tackle the blaze from above. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
