Italian light artist Massimo Uberti was commissioned by British carmaker Bentley to create an installation at the 2014 edition of Design Miami. Inspired by the neon-lit vehicle audit bays at Bentley’s factory in Crewe, England, and realised in the artist’s trademark white neon tubing, Uberti has created the stark outline of a room furnished with a table and chair. <br><br> The minimal but transfixing installation, called ‘Element of Light’, was commissioned as part of Bentley Elements, a new programme of planned artist collaborations initiated by the auto brand that span art, design and technology and will result in an original commission from a craftsperson or artist being produced each year. <br><br> Set up to celebrate the innovation and craftsmanship inherent within the Bentley brand, the Elements series is the brainchild of Duncan Campbell and Charlotte Rey of creative consultancy Campbell-Rey.
