Delhi: 78 Afghan evacuees' 14-day quarantine at ITBP camp ends | Covid

As many as 78 evacuees from Afghanistan, who were in quarantine, left the ITBP facility in Delhi on Tuesday. The evacuees were kept at the facility due to a 14-day mandatory quarantine rule in place in view of Covid. The group includes 53 Afghans (34 men, 9 women, 10 kids), 25 Indians (18 men, 5 women, 12 kids). The evacuees reached the quarantine facility on August 24 after being airlifted from Afghanistan. At present, 35 people (24 Indians, 11 Nepalese) are under quarantine at the ITBP centre. They will be released after completing their requisite quarantine period on September 8. The evacuees are being provided services like fooding, lodging, indoor games, Wi-Fi, canteen free of cost. ITBP said yoga & stress counselling sessions are also being organised by stress counsellors. The evacuees were airlifted from Afghanistan after the Taliban took control of the country.
