Tirur: Amidst of the protests during hartal, some hartal supporters attacked a pregnant woman and husband at Tirur in Malappuram. Vettam native Rajesh and Nisha were beaten up by the gang. Both were admitted to district hospital in Tirur. It is reported that hartal supporters blocked the couple who were travelling in a bike and attacked them. The hartal supporters tried to topple down the bike. “They manhandled us and threatened us,” said Rajesh. Violence is reported in various parts of Malappuram during the hartal called by Sabarimala Karma Samithi with the support of NDA. Two policemen were attacked in Tanur.
