T'puram: The India Meteorological department has predicted possibilities for heavy rain and hurricane across the state. The government has issued alert in the state. The department has informed that a low pressure area is very likely to form over southeast Arabian Sea. It is likely to concentrate into a depression and move northwestwards in the subsequent 48 hours. It is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm thereafter. The government has issued red alert in Idukki, Thrissur and Palakkad. Whereas yellow alert is issued in Pathanamthitta. CM Pinarayi Vijayan has also asked central agencies for their support in the coming days. The Chief minister has convened an emergency meeting of disaster management committees.
