A new study challenges the perception of psychopaths, as female psychopaths may be up to five times more common than previously thought. Dr. Clive Boddy will present findings at the Cambridge Festival, disputing the common notion that psychopathy is predominantly a male trait. Contrary to the existing six-to-one ratio of male-to-female psychopaths, Dr. Boddy suggests a more balanced 1.2-to-1 ratio. The discrepancy arises from improperly identifying female psychopaths, as previous studies focused primarily on criminal and male profiles. Gender bias compounds the issue, as society tends to overlook psychopathic traits when displayed by women. These women are often more manipulative than their male counterparts, employing distinct techniques for direct exploitation. These include verbal manipulation, deceit and sexually seductive behavior to achieve their goals.
