Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin held a briefing with Rep. Mark Alford (R-MO) on immigration enforcement funding in the wake of a 76-day partial federal shutdown of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The two called on Congress to pass additional funding for officers and agencies as the FIFA World Cup approached in June. Secretary Mullin explained that the department would be "flexing hard" at World Cup matches due to the lack of security thresholds at stadiums.
