Typhoon Kalmaegi tore across the central Philippines on Monday, leaving at least two people dead and forcing residents to climb onto rooftops as flash floods submerged cars and homes. The storm packed winds of up to 195 kph, cut power across provinces, and displaced tens of thousands before moving toward the South China Sea.
