McLaren's Norris Mounts Comeback For Dominant Win At Dutch GP

McLaren’s Lando Norris claimed his second win of the season at the Dutch Grand Prix following a dominant victory at Zandvoort. Norris, who began the race in pole position, lost his lead following a slow start, allowing Red Bull driver and title rival Max Verstappen to jump into first. However, Norris showed McLaren’s pace, retaking the lead from the hometown hero on Lap 18 before pulling away to win the race by 22.8 seconds. “It feels amazing. I wouldn't say a perfect race because of lap one again but it was beautiful, the car was very strong, I could push and get past Max and just go from there. Still tough but enjoyable,” said Lando Norris. Verstappen, who is looking to capture his fourth championship in a row, complained about a lack of grip during the race and noted that Red Bull “were not quick enough.” The win for Norris cuts Verstappen’s lead at the top of the drivers’ championship to 70 points, with McLaren just 31 points behind Red Bull in the constructors’ standings. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc took third place, fending off McLaren’s Oscar Piastri, with the Monegasque driver “extremely happy” after a “difficult weekend” for the team.
