The Pogues singer's funeral will be held in his home county of Tipperary on Friday. It is understood MacGowan's remains will be brought in a funeral cortege from his family's homeplace of Nenagh to Dublin City for a public procession on Friday morning. It will then be taken back to Tipperary for cremation. The mass in Nenagh will be open to the public. Irish President Michael D Higgins is expected to attend the Fairytale of New York singer's funeral, along with high-profile guests from the entertainment industry.
